BRAIN DUMP

I didn’t know what to call this post because soo many thoughts are going through my head right now. This is the first time, in over a year, that I have been able to write somewhere other than my home and I’m elated.

I love this craft.

It’s not something anyone can police me on. Critiques are okay, but even without them, I can say I’m true to what I write. I’ve always called myself a writer and the reason is because it’s something I do whether people see it or not. The same goes for all of the other crafts I do. There’s literally a message in everything and words count. That’s how I see it anyway. I take pride in being able to speak up for myself and anyone who can’t speak for themselves (if requested). I appreciate that complex things can be broken down in a way that everyone can understand. No one gets left out if you choose the right words. They’re so powerful, and sometimes we forget that.

We always hear things like “be careful what you say because there’s power in the tongue”.

That probably goes through my head throughout every single day, and that’s good. Not only should I be careful how I speak about myself, but I’m aware that my words have power to influence and impact others’ as well. I’ll be the first to say that I’m a work in progress when it comes to that. We can’t always predict how people will receive or react to what you say, and even so, we have to be willing to recant what we previously said. We’re not perfect, we can’t read minds, and most of all, WE’RE NOT PERFECT; but being perfect isn’t necessarily the goal, being right should be. If our true intention is to be right, we’ll be willing to modify what we previously said (if necessary).

Think about this. The more you experience life, the more you’ll understand (hopefully). Be optimistic about it. You’re not always going to get it right, but know who you are, know what you’re saying, and stay true to your own convictions. Say what you mean and mean what you say and MAKE SURE, you know exactly what you’re saying.

This was a brain dump brought to you by moi. I hope you enjoyed.
