LOVE

Long time no see babies!
Every year around this time we reflect on what we’ve accomplished, where we’ve been, and who we’ve become. Right now, I’m celebrating who I’m becoming and accepting that I’ve transitioned from one phase of life to another. I’ve also accepted that I’M A GROWN WOMAN AND I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT (insert Uzi shoulder bounce here). I’m having so much fun evolving. I know I have always been this way but let me be clear: I am a woman that knows who she is, and I am unapologetic about how I move in this space. I’ve always poured into myself as much as I’ve poured into others, so I’ve learned not to feel loss when people phase out of my life, or even when I phase out of theirs. No love is lost because it’s genuine and unconditional.
Lately, I’ve become more consistent with posting my outfits on Instagram and I wanted to start sharing more details about them here on the blog.
It’s funny because I mentioned in my latest post that I haven’t been shopping in SO long. The number one reason is obviously that it hasn’t been fiscally responsible to do so, but I’ve also been challenging myself to serve myself in the way I would a client. during this time of being EXTRA frugal, I’ve been driven to give myself a Wardrobe Rediscovery. Throughout the summer I’ve done this, just by giving things away to local thrift shops, charities, and consignment stores. Now, I’m making the “old” look new.
I took some photos to highlight a few of my favorite pieces (one of which I’ve had for about 4 years now).
The key to this Rediscovery was incorporating pieces that feel luxurious. For example, my sunglasses and fur scream “keep a wet wipe in case a bum try to touch me.” Y’all remember that line. This denim jacket used to be my sister’s years ago. It was a tad distressed just from natural wear and tear but it has only gotten better. The cuffs are slightly frayed, and the denim has faded just enough to give me a satisfactory shade of blue. My sunglasses were found at a local beauty supply store, and a few jewels were re-attached a year ago. I refuse to let them go. I don’t wear them too often because I don’t want to drop them and lose anymore. These are hard to find now for some reason.
Minimal graphics are key,
especially when bright colors are involved. I got this lightweight sweater from Old Navy a couple of years ago. I used to have a hard time styling it because I was trying my best not to wear it with jeans. I’d love to style it with some white jeans and a red heel. That would be a cute V-Day look, don’t ya think? The red bag I wore it with - perfect, thrifted, embossed leather.
Sooo I am super ready for Christmas!
This year is going to be different because my family has decided to keep things simple as it pertains to gifts. We are just super grateful to all be together and alive. I have the perfect little gift guide coming soon, but until then, get into the links for some of the pieces I’m wearing. Everything is linked in the caption below the carousel.
